Massive structural fire on Bokmakirie Street 340 Amstelhof Paarl
Community leaders requested assistance by radio at the DFW emergency control room at the DFW base nearby.
DFW received a location via WhatsApp of the exact address. Paarl Fire was informed.
A DFW heavy duty Tanker/ pumper and a DFW cruiser were on their way in minutes.
On site the truck crew opened fire with the truck's water cannon to cut off the flames from nearby houses, while DFW ground crews hosed water via the truck's flatlines onto the inferno.
Upon arrival of Paarl Fire the DFW further handed over the rescue operation.
The fast intervention might have saved quite some more structures. The devastation is enormous.
Coordination was great and at 03.35 the DFW commander reported to the Paarl Fire commander of his retraction from the scene.
