Search after reported drowning incident at Salmon Bay, Ballito

On Saturday morning, IPSS Search & Rescue, NSRI and the KDM Lifeguards responded to Salmon Bay beach after receiving reports of man that had gotten into difficulty while swimming.

KDM Lifeguards and NSRI launched jet skis and a boat in an attempt to locate the swimmer.

IPSS Search & Rescue has conducted an aerial search with the use of a drone, sadly, at this time, there has been no sign of the man.

We urge the public to avoid swimming at Salmon Bay. This is an unprotected beach where numerous swimmers have lost their lives, many of whom were unaware of the dangers posed by these waters.
