Man Killed in Horror Chatsworth Crash

Just after 12pm on Friday Afternoon ALS Paramedics responded to numerous calls of two crashes both being in the vicinity of Westcliffe offramp on the M1 Higginson Highway in Chatsworth. 

Paramedics arrived at the East Bound Crash to find absolute carnage. A single vehicle had left the Higginson Highway and come to rest on the railway lines leaving the driver and only occupant severely entrapped in the wreckage. Immediately the

Ethekweni Fire Department were called to assist. Whilst Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilize the man believed to be in his twenties he went into a state of Cardiac arrest and unfortunately passed away at the scene. The Ethekweni Fire Department arrived and assisted with the extrication of the victim. No other injuries were reported.

On the opposite bound (the west bound) it is believed a Pedestrian had been struck. Other emergency personnel attended to that scene.

At this stage the exact events leading up to both these crashes are unknown however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further.
