A Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI sustained extensive damage after being struck by a tyre that reportedly detached from a minibus taxi on the M4 Ruth First Highway

A Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI sustained extensive damage after being struck by a tyre that reportedly detached from a minibus taxi on the M4 Ruth First Highway near the La Lucia off-ramp.

The Golf was travelling along the highway when the incident occurred. The damage left the vehicle unable to be driven. Thankfully, its occupants escaped without injury.

KZN VIP responded alongside towing operators and other emergency services following reports of a crash. The scene was cleared a short while later.
