Policeman Injured In Taxi Collision: Cottonlands – KZN

A Policeman travelling to work was injured after a minibus taxi collided with his motorcycle on Vincent Dickenson Road towards Cottonlands – KZN this morning (Friday 09/10/2026).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a call requesting assistance at approximately 07:40. Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were immediately dispatched.
On arrival, a Policeman dressed in full uniform was found lying on the side of the road. He was travelling to work on a red Big Boy motorcycle when the collision occurred.
The driver of the white Toyota Quantum informed First Responders that he was following the motorcycle towards Cottonlands – KZN when an oncoming white VW Polo attempted to overtake a truck. He alleged that the VW Polo came close to his taxi, forcing him to swerve to avoid a head-on collision.
The taxi struck the rear of the motorcycle, causing the Policeman to lose control and fall onto the roadway. The VW Polo did not stop.
RUSA Paramedics treated the Policeman for injuries to his left arm and leg, as well as abrasions to his body, before transporting him to hospital.
Four (4) occupants of the minibus taxi were uninjured.
