A woman was injured following a serious crash near the Trade Centre bend exiting Phoenix on Tuesday morning.
It is believed that the vehicle went down an embankment after attempting to avoid a stationary vehicle.
Passing motorists rushed to a nearby service station, where they spotted a KZN VIP vehicle and requested assistance. KZN VIP’s emergency medical teams, including advanced life support paramedics, were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the patient was found entrapped in the wreckage. KZN VIP members, assisted by motorists who stopped to help, managed to extricate her. She was then brought up from the bottom of the embankment to an awaiting ambulance.
Further stabilisation was carried out before she was transported to a nearby medical facility for continued treatment.
