Members of Tshwane Flying Squad arrested two suspects and recovered three motor vehicles in separate incidents

Members of Tshwane Flying Squad arrested two suspects and recovered three motor vehicles in separate incidents, during their crime prevention operations conducted on 5 October 2026.
In the first incident, the team responded to a complaint of an armed robbery in the Wierdabrug area. The suspect had allegedly used a Chevrolet Captiva vehicle, which was found abandoned at a plot on Monument Drive in Mnandi.
One suspect was arrested and, upon searching him, a firearm with a filed-off serial number was found in his possession. Another firearm, also without a serial number, was found in the Chevrolet Captiva vehicle, together with blue lights and a reflective jacket.
Further investigation established that the vehicle was fitted with false number plates and had been reported stolen at SAPS Pretoria Central.
In the second incident, the members arrested a suspect for contravention of the Precious Metals Act after he was found in possession of three gold bars and jewellery at Lyttelton.
The suspects are expected to appear before the relevant Magistrates’ Courts on the charges against them.
