Pedestrian-vehicle accident in Gezina
PVES responders and a practitioner attended a pedestrian-vehicle accident after information about the incident was shared on a local community group.
A PVES practitioner was first on scene and found a male patient with severe injuries, including a suspected traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a fractured left arm. A Netcare ambulance arrived shortly thereafter, and treatment was initiated.
The patient was unresponsive to verbal commands but responded to painful stimuli. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was carefully transferred onto a stretcher and transported to the nearest government medical facility for urgent further treatment.
