Roadblock operation conducted on the R30 road, near Theunissen
The South African Police Service (SAPS) joined by various stakeholders held a roadblock operation on the R30 road, near Theunissen on Wednesday, 23 September 2026.
The integrated operation included various law enforcement agencies working alongside the SAPS. These comprised of the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), Provincial Traffic, Department of Health, Disaster Management, and the Department of Community Safety Roads and Transport. The operation was led by Colonel Senobia Solomon.
The operation focused on targeting the transportation of illicit goods, enforcing strict adherence on road safety and ensuring compliance, verification of documents and curbing criminal activities.
The roadblock operation resulted in fines being issued for contravention of the road traffic act. Other arrests included the contravention of the immigration act.
The integrated operation forms part of the joint interventions by the SAPS and stakeholders in ensuring compliance on the road and to intercept and deal decisively with law violations. #PoliceVisibility
