ATNS CSI Programme Connects Communities to Aviation at AAD2026

ATNS demonstrated its commitment to community upliftment and education through its Corporate Social Investment programme at the Africa Aerospace and Defence Expo, hosted by the South African Air Force at Waterkloof Air Base in Pretoria.

As South Africa’s state-owned Air Navigation Service Provider, mandated to ensure airspace safety, ATNS has for years enabled hundreds of learners to experience aviation in real time at the AAD. It has done so through special invitations or by engaging at its exhibition stand, staffed by Air Traffic Management specialists, Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel and Aeronautical Information Management experts.

This year, learners from the Ekurhuleni School for the Deaf and the Orange Farm Children’s Home attended the Expo. They toured the exhibitions and watched professional pilots in action at the Airshow. Their excitement reflected the value of aviation exposure, especially when linked to excelling in STEM subjects to pursue careers in aviation.

The presence of ATNS Board Chairperson and private pilot Adv Zola Majavu boosted morale among ATNS personnel, who worked tirelessly to ensure the learners’ experience was purposeful, memorable and enriching.

ATNS continues to serve as both a guardian of the skies and a catalyst for inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals.
