Driver treated after experiencing a seizure while behind the steering wheel on Midstream Drive near Midstream Estate in Centurion

On Friday afternoon at approximately 15:00, the CERT Centurion crew responded to a medical emergency on Midstream Drive near Midstream Estate in Centurion.
Upon arrival, crews found that a patient had experienced a seizure while behind the steering wheel.
The patient was assessed, treated, and stabilised on scene before being transported to a nearby healthcare facility in a stable condition for further medical care.

Seizure Safety Reminder
If someone experiences a seizure, keep them safe from surrounding hazards, cushion their head if possible, and do not restrain them or place anything in their mouth. Once the seizure has stopped, place them on their side if it is safe to do so and monitor their breathing.
Call emergency services if the seizure lasts longer than five minutes, repeats without the person recovering, occurs in water, results in serious injury, or if the person has difficulty breathing or does not regain consciousness
