Pedestrian killed in a collision in Edenvale

On Friday 23 May 2025 at 05:45, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Freeway Patrol Officers attended to an accident in the Edenvale area.

While patrolling the area, Officers received a complaint of an accident on the R24 direction East, just before the Edenvale off-ramp. Upon arrival, an unknown male between the ages of eighteen(18) and thirty-five(35) was found on the road, hit by a white Toyota Corolla. The driver of the vehicle sustained no injuries.

Pedestrians fatalities remain a huge concern on the freeways. We urge pedestrians to use pedestrian bridges or cross at designated areas.
