Tuck crash at Marianhill toll plaza

At 08h57 on Sunday morning Netcare 911 paramedics were dispatched to a truck crash on the N3 Durban Bound near the Marianhill toll plaza. Reports from the scene indicate that an oil tanker and a heavy good truck collided about a 100 meters before the arrester bed. Exact detail to the cause however will remain a subject for police comment.

 

Paramedics and the fire services arrived at the scene and found the highway totally obstructed with the wreckages of the truck and a burning tanker. After examining the drivers they found that one had sustained serious burn wounds while the other driver escaped uninjured.

 

Paramedics treated the injured man at the scene before they transported him to a specialised hospital in Durban for the care that he required.
