Question
I have a question. I founded a volunteer organisation that renders medical services at various events. My staff regularly assists at accident scenes. We are doing a road safety project this year in Meiringsp00rt (Klein Karoo) with Metro this festive season.
What I would like to know is how do I go about registering my response vehicle as an emergency vehicle. I have been to the local traffic authorities and they don't seem to be able to help me. Can you please advise.
Answer
The Road Traffic Act requires that you approach the MEC for Transport in the province (the application is for the fitment of markings and lights). The details are available from the registering authority or in the local telephone book.
