Seatbelts and Heavy Motor Vehicles

Question

Certain heavy load vehicles older than a certain year or model does not need to be fitted with seatbelts. Please advise ?

Answer

There is no law at present that states Heavy Motor Vehicles must be fitted with seatbelts. Although Regulation 214 states that if motor vehicles are fitted with a seatbelt then it must be used and that includes the new models of HMV. That comes from the manufacturers fitted with seatbelts.
