Question
I'm a zimbabwean currently working in South Africa I would like to know if it is illegal to drive on South African roads using a Zimbabwean drivers license, I've been stopped by the police on anumber of occasions and thretened with arrest if I fail to pay a fine on the spot because I'm driving without a license although I would have produced my Zimbabwean one. Please advise how I can deal with my situation. Many thanks in advance.
Answer
If you have a valid Zimbabwean driving licence and have not taken up permanent residence in South Africa then you may use your driving licence.
