Brake Failure Causes Delivery Vehicle To Overturn: Trenance Park – KZN

A delivery vehicle overturned while turning into Cottonwood Drive in Trenance Park – KZN at approximately 09:49 today (Wednesday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call for assistance. On arrival, Reaction Officers found a white Isuzu bakkie belonging to a courier company lying on its side.

The driver, a 29-year-old male, informed Reaction Officers that he lost control of the vehicle while attempting to turn left into Cottonwood Drive. He alleged that the brakes failed while the vehicle was in motion.

It was established that the vehicle struck a tree stump on a roadside embankment before overturning. A brake pad (picture 3) was located on Madrona Drive and is believed to have dislodged from the vehicle prior to the incident.

The driver was not injured.
