The Gauteng Anti-Gang unit recovered three unlicensed firearms and arrested one suspected in Germiston

In efforts to remove illegal firearms from society, the Gauteng Anti-Gang unit recovered three unlicensed firearms and arrested one suspected in Germiston on 05 March 2026.
The team was conducting patrols around Reiger Park and Germiston when they noticed approximately seven men who ran away upon seeing the police. The team chased them and managed to catch one who was found with a firearm with a filed off serial number. Upon further questioning, the suspect led the police to his home, where they recovered two more firearms also with filed off serial numbers.
The 31-year-old man was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and will appear before court soon.
