Foreign national arrested for possession and possible dealing in illicit substances at the OR Tambo International Airport.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) Unit Officers, arrested a foreign national for possession and possible dealing in illicit substances at the OR Tambo International Airport.

While Officers were patrolling the airport, when they received a complaint from Sky Top Garage regarding a white Hyundai Grand i10 that was obstructing traffic. Officers approached the driver and requested him to move the vehicle off the roadway. The suspect became aggressive, which prompted officers to issue him with a fine for obstruction and to conduct a search of the vehicle due to his suspicious behaviour.

During the search, Officers discovered a clear plastic bag containing multiple small packets of heroin.

The forty-five (45) year old suspect was arrested and detained at the OR Tambo Police Station. He is expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.
