Suspects arrested for the possession of illegal firearms and drugs in Bishop Lavis

Members of the Public Order Police (POP) Unit, arrested two male suspects during an intelligence-driven operation in Bishop Lavis yesterday.

The members descended on an address in Lake Road, Bishop Lavis, where they had credible intelligence about drug sales taking place. They were also informed that the school grounds of a nearby school, are being used to store the drugs. While sweeping the area, they found 50 sachets of tik, seven sachets of cocaine, a .38 Special revolver and 29 rounds of ammunition.

Two suspects, aged 32 and 29, were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of ammunition and possession of drugs.

Once charged, the suspects will make their first court appearance in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court.
