Cape Cobra uncovered in a grandfather clock

Last night, 7 December 2025, at 18:48, a concerned resident from 11 Vrede Street, De Rust, reported a yellow snake inside her home — hiding in her grandfather clock. The resident noticed something unusual when her cat sat staring at the clock and refused to move. Upon closer inspection, she discovered the snake.
She was immediately advised to remain calm and keep a safe distance while observing the snake until help arrived. On arrival, our local snake catcher, Mornay Thysse confirmed it to be a big Cape Cobra.
Venom: Neurotoxic and very dangerous.
