Multi-vehicle collision on the corner of Fred Nicholson & Johan Hayns Drive

Earlier today, PVES volunteers responded to a multi-vehicle collision involving three vehicles and five patients. A PVES member, who heard the impact from nearby, immediately rushed to the scene and began initial assessment before EMS arrival.
One patient required extrication and Fire Services were requested to assist. First Help secured the roadway, managed scene hazards, and kept the area safe for medics.
With only two Promed ambulances immediately available, the PVES responder provided treatment and stabilisation to both P3 patients, including wound care and patient support. Once the third ambulance arrived, PVES assisted in safely loading a patient into the vehicle while another
P3 patient elected to remain with his uninjured 3-year-old child.
A total of four patients were transported to hospital for further medical care.
