Musician Shebeshxt facing charges of attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, malicious damage to property, and defeating the ends of justice.

The 30-year-old popular musician, Lehlohonolo Chauke, known by his stage name Shebeshxt, appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 13 November 2025, facing several serious charges.

These include two counts of attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, malicious damage to property, and defeating the ends of justice.

The court has remanded the accused in custody until Friday, 21 November 2025, pending profiling and further police investigation.

The charges relate to an incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 19 October 2025, along Witklip Street in Ladanna, outside Polokwane, where the accused allegedly fired several shots at another motorist during a confrontation. A 34-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Following an intensive investigation by the Provincial Investigation Unit, a warrant of arrest was obtained on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, and the suspect was subsequently arrested at his residence in Bendor, outside Polokwane, on Wednesday morning, 12 November 2025, at about 09:30.
