Suspect arrested for dealing in drugs at Canehaven Drive in Phoenix.

On Wednesday 9 July 2025, Hawks members from Serious Organised Crime Investigation working together with Crime Intelligence, Durban Metro Police, Infrastructure Task Team and Durban Public Order Police arrested a 50-year-old suspect for dealing in drugs at Canehaven Drive in Phoenix.

Police received information about drug dealing activities that were taking place at Canehaven Drive. A disruptive operation was planned and observations were made. Allegations were confirmed and members swooped on the suspect’s residence and a search was conducted.

During the search police found pieces of crack cocaine, mandrax tablets, vodka sachets to the street value of approximately R20 260.00. Police also found modified firearm and five live rounds of ammunition. The suspect was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

He is expected to appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court today.
