Three people were arrested for exceeding the speed limit in the Boanero Park area
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) High-Speed Unit Officers, arrested three male motorists between the ages thirty and forty-five, for exceeding the speed limit of 70km/h in the Boanero Park area.
While performing law enforcement duties on Great North Road, a Pro-Lazer camera high-speed monitoring equipment was set up for compliance and adherence to the speed limit of 70km/h for that roadway.
Officers pulled over three motor vehicles namely a white Suzuki hatchback, a white Toyota Legend bakkie and a white Audi A4 sedan, who all failed to comply with the designated speed limit on Great North Road, travelling at speed limits of 115km/h, 118km/h and 127km/h.
The trio marched to Boanero Park Police Station to be detained and are expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates Court soon.
Speed is one of the major contributing factors to road fatalities in the City of Ekurhuleni and motorists are advised to adhere to speed limits as failure to comply, will result in them being held accountable for their actions and will face the full might of the Law.
