The body of a 48-year-old male washed up along the Glenashley Beach in Durban North

The body of a 48-year-old male washed up on Saturday evening along Glenashley beach as residents were out for a night swim.

Whilst in the water they noticed the lifeless body floating and immediately pulled him onto the shore.

The quick -hinking resident notified emergency services but sadly there were no signs of life, the patient was declared deceased by KZNVIP Medics.

SAPS Search and Rescue together with other teams were in attendance.

It's believed that the male had been reported missing from earlier in the day, circumstances cannot be confirmed pending saps investigation.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on their loss during this time.
