Shooting in the Tongaat CBD

At approximately 16:00pm CERT received reports of a shooting in the Tongaat CBD.

CERT volunteers together with emergency services were dispatched and upon arrival found a woman who was seated in the driver's seat of a vehicle with several bullet wounds. She was assessed by paramedics and sadly declared deceased. A policeman who was in the vicinity at the time gave chase to the suspect but unfortunately lost the suspect. Private K9 units together with SAPS K9 units were called but unfortunately could not pick up a spoor to track the suspect. The motive of the shooting is unknown and is subject to an investigation by the local SAPS. Thank you to IPSS Medical Rescue, Marshall Security, Brett Moran, Tongaat SAPS, SAPS K9 Durban, Metro Police and CERT volunteers for responding. A special thank you to the local tow trucks who assisted with traffic control.
