Durban: Driver left in a critical condition after being shot in a hijacking
KwaZulu-Natal: At 23H35 Friday night, Netcare 911 responded to a shooting on Sea Cow Lake Road in Springfield Park, Durban.
Reports allege that an ehailing taxi had been hi-jacked after uplifted three adult male passengers.
The patient, a 28-year-old male drove his passengers to a deserted location where he was ordered out the car.
It is believed that while trying to flee, the man was shot twice.
When medics arrived on the scene, they found the patient in a critical condition, lying in a pool of blood.
The man was treated on scene by Netcare 911 emergency care practitioners.
The patients condition rapidly deteriorated and a decision was made to rush the man to the nearest appropriate hospital for further care.
Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities who were on scene.
