E-hailing driver shot dead in an attempted hijacking in Durban
Just before 15h00 on Tuesday Emer-G-Med paramedics together with multiple emergency service agencies responded to the scene of a shooting incident on Swan Road in the Avoca area north of Durban.
On arrival on scene a forty-four year old male was found lying in the back seat of a crashed Renault light motor vehicle.
Closer inspection found the man to have sustained a fatal gunshot wound and he was declared dead on arrival of paramedics.
Reports from the scene suggest that the man was an e-hailing driver and came under fire in an attempted hijacking by unknown suspects before crashing his vehicle.
The South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly.
