Three injured in a cash-in-transit heist on the N1 inbound by the N7 offramp in Goodwood, Western Cape
Yesterday evening, three people were injured following a cash-in-transit heist on the N1 inbound by the N7 offramp in Goodwood, Western Cape.
ER24, Metro EMS and several other services arrived at 18h30 to find several vehicles parked on the offramp, two of them well alight.
Local authorities were already on the scene, assessing the situation and diverting the traffic.
Medics assessed the patients and found that one suspect had sustained a gunshot wound to his buttocks while another had sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh, leaving him in a serious condition. A security officer was also assessed and found to have suffered a minor abrasion to his head.
Medics treated the patients and transported two to nearby hospitals for further care. The seriously injured man was transported by the Metro EMS to a nearby hospital for further care.
The local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
