One killed, one injured in a two-vehicle collision in Mountain Rise

A man has been killed and another sustained moderate injuries following a two-vehicle collision on Dr Chota Motala road in Mountain Rise this morning.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly before 06H30, they found the police already in attendance. Upon further assessment, paramedics found a man lying in the middle of the road. Unfortunately, he showed no signs of life and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

Another man was found seated on the pavement next to a bakkie. He had sustained moderate injuries. ER24 treated him on the scene before transporting him to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for further medical care.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics.
