Pedestrian seriously injured in collision with motorbike in Roodepoort
A 59-year-old pedestrian was left in a serious condition when he was hit by a motorbike near the intersection of Van Wyk Street and Nick Toomey Boulevard in Roodepoort this evening.
Shortly before 6pm, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the pedestrian in the middle of the road. He had sustained serious head injuries. Paramedics stabilised him on the scene and rushed him to Leratong Hospital for further medical care. The motorbike rider was assessed on scene but found to have sustained only minor injuries. He declined hospital transportation.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not known. Roodepoort Police attended the scene.
