Minister Mbalula to release Preliminary Report on Mamelodi Train Collision

Pretoria: The Minister of Transport, Mr Fikile Mbalula will conduct an in-loco inspection and release a Preliminary Report from the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) following a collision that left scores of commuters injured. 

Minister Mbalula will undertake a site visit at the Wolmerton train station and engage with victims following a collision between a Transnet Freight Rail Temping Machine and a new Metrorail train at the Eerste Fabrieke Station. 

The collision occurred on Saturday, 01 June 2019 in the evening.

Members of the media are invited to join the Minister.  The details of the in-loco inspection are as follows:
